Consulate Appointment!

We got the Consulate Appointment that we wanted. And my wonderful husband was able to get us our tickets to China and back in Business Class!!! Yeah!

The Consulate Appointment is very important. The U. S. Consulate is located in Guangzhou and is the last step before we are able to travel back home. We will submit Kari's Chinese passport to receive her immigrant visa. Once she is approved for that, she will become a U. S. citizen the moment we land back in Chicago.

One more step done!

We found out that our agency received our Travel Approval! Next step is scheduling our Consulate Appointment, which is the last thing we need in order to start planning our trip to China.

We got an update!

"Kangping loves dolls and feed the doll, changes the dress for them like a little mom, she likes to building blocks, play with other children, sings song, dances etc. She likes dresses and new clothes. she is a girly-girl and very gentle and very cute. And she likes to read for sure, recently she starts to write some works and letters, she is very excited to tell us she has home work."

Her foster mom emailed us this information. This time around, we have gotten so much information about our new daughter. Such a blessing!

I love technology!

We were able to Skype with Kari's foster mom this morning!

We are so happy to be able to have her "see" us! Maybe this will help her to feel a bit more comfortable coming to us. Her foster mom said that Kari asks to see the pictures of us that we sent. She seems to understand that she will become part of our family, but we know that when it actually happens, she will most likely be scared.

Introducing Kari!

Here she is:

When Ray first saw her picture, he said, "Another beautiful girl to join our family!" She just turned six and is at a foster home. We hope to be traveling soon to get her. Our paperwork is flying along. Now all we have to do is wait for both governments to get our papers done. All we need now is our Travel Approval, or TA, which should be coming in about two weeks or so.
