Kari is here!

We are all exhausted, so this is going to be short. Kari had a hard time at the Gotcha time. When Lily brought her in to the big room at the Civil Affairs Office, Kari was really crying hard. As soon as Lily left, she really became upset. She was crying inconsolably and then started coughing. Then she threw up all over the floor and me..... Welcome to motherhood, I guess! We are up in the room now and she is coloring with Betsy. She seems to be doing a tad bit better. We've seen several genuine smiles, which is good. Her smiles are quite lovely.

Sorry for the dark picture, but I didn't want to scare her with a flash.

  1. I am very grateful for the smiles - this is going to be an interesting time as all of you get to know each other!

  2. Oh, Laura - welcome to motherhood, indeed! Probably a good thing that this (I presume!) is not the first time you have been thrown up on. Poor little girl...but she is so blessed to have you and the whole family to love her through her grief. Best wishes on the rest of the journey! Margo

Thank you for sharing with us - the good times and the tough ones. My girls have been checking in everyday to see how Betsy is doing and to get a peak at Kari, whom they are excited to meet when the time is right. Best wishes to you and your family as you complete your journey there and begin your new one at home!
