No, it's not a sparkler

We went back to the Civil Affairs office this morning after a superb breakfast here at the hotel. Kari got scared and didn't want to go in, but MeiMei persuaded her to sit on the sofa in the room. We saw many of the same families that were there yesterday meeting their new children. Today the Director of Civil Affairs asked us if we were happy with Kari and we said yes! They asked if we would ever abandon her or hurt her and we said no! Then they asked if we truly wanted to,adopt her after getting to know her. Of course, we said YES!

We had to sign numerous forms and then stamp our thumb print over our signatures. It felt like we were at a mortgage closing....

Then we went to a supermarket and let Kari pick out some snacks. MeiMei picked out some green pocky. China has the best pocky flavors. No boring chocolate or strawberry here. They have peach, triple chocolate fudge, chocolate, and this one that we THOUGHT was mint.

Turns out it was green tea pocky. Yummmmm!

    1. Pocky is a type of long skinny cookie usually with the end dipped into something yummy. I think that it's a Japanese thing.

  2. You can get Pocky at Diho market in Westmont. FYI. (and at Target now, I believe)
